Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, PGA Champion Stuart Appleby, LPGA Champion Charlotta Sorenstam to attend GOLFUNITED Fore Pulse

ORLANDO, Fla. — The GOLFUNITED Fore Pulse charity golf scramble organizing committee, has confirmed the attendance and support of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, and local residents; PGA Tour Champion Stuart Appleby and LPGA Tour Champion Charlotta Sorenstam. The event is Friday August 26, 2016 at Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando.

The GOLFUNITED Fore PULSE charity scramble is being held to raise donations, increase awareness, honor the 49 victims, and support the ongoing needs of the 53 injured and the families impacted by the horrific mass shooting that occurred at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando June 12, 2016.

The inaugural tournament will begin at 8 a.m., August 26 and is being held on the New Course at the Villas of Grand Cypress in Orlando. Mayor Buddy Dyer will provide the opening remarks and is playing in the event. Nine-time PGA Tour Champion Stuart Appleby, one of five PGA Tour players to record a round of 59, will be on the course providing quick tips for all the golfers and LPGA Tour Champion, Teaching Professional and Coach, Charlotta Sorenstam will be present to witness the $10,000 Hole-in-One Par 3 sponsored by Digital Golf Technologies.

Grand Cypress is the presenting host and hospitality sponsor with 100 percent of the net proceeds benefiting the Pulse of Orlando and OneOrlando Funds. GOLFUNITED, the organizing body for the event, is working in coordination with its team of generous service providers, sponsors, unpaid staff and volunteers to ensure that all donations raised will be distributed directly back to the surviving victims and families through its partnership with Pulse of Orlando and OneOrlando Fund, both 501(c)(3) non‐profit organizations.

The GOLFUNITED Fore PULSE scramble will be followed by lunch, silent auction and entertainment. GOLFUNITED was formed by a group of golf industry professionals in Orlando, Fla. who are passionate and dedicated to making a difference in the wake of the Pulse nightclub tragedy, June 12, 2016. The Orlando shooting at Pulse was the deadliest terrorist attack in the United States since Sept. 11, 2001. Following the horrific tragedy at Pulse, there was a tremendous outpouring from the community seeking to provide financial support. In response, the OneOrlando Fund was set up by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, and is a project within Strengthen Orlando, Inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation previously established by the City of Orlando. Equality Florida, the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida (The Center) and the National Compassion Fund created a partnership with OneOrlando to ensure that funds collected are disbursed in a unified process.
